Women suffering from dowry, living below poverty line, who are not getting help from any other department, have filed FIR of harassment in the police station or in the court whose case is under consideration, District Probation Officer, who is also named District Dowry Prohibition Officer Can get help after the approval of the District Magistrate on the application, financial assistance of Rs 125 per month is provided to the eligible woman.

A lump sum assistance of Rs 2500 is provided for legal advocacy to dowry women living below the poverty line, who are not being assisted by other departments under consideration in the court of law.

An application is to be submitted to the office of the District Probation Officer, who is also designated as the District Dowry Prohibition Officer , after the approval of the District Magistrate, such eligible women are provided assistance.

• To prevent trafficking of women and children for commercial sexual exploitation through social mobilization and involvement of local communities, awareness generation programmes, generate public discourse through workshops/seminars and such events and any other innovative activity.  
• To facilitate rescue of victims from the place of their exploitation and place them in safe custody.  
• To provide rehabilitation services both immediate and long-term to the victims by providing basic amenities/needs such as shelter, food, clothing, medical treatment including counselling, legal aid and guidance and vocational training.  
• To facilitate reintegration of the victims into the family and society at large  
• To facilitate repatriation of cross-border victims to their country of origin.

Women and children who are vulnerable to trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation.  Women and children who are victims of trafficking for commercial sexual exploitation.

Implementing Agencies

The implementing agencies can be the Social Welfare/Women and Child Welfare Department of State Government, Women‟s Development Corporations, Women’s Development Centres, Urban Local Bodies, reputed Public/Private Trust or Voluntary Organizations. The organization must have adequate experience in the field of trafficking, social defence, dealing with women and children in need of care and protection, children in conflict with law, etc.

The pension scheme is implemented by the Uttar Pradesh government to provide assistance to destitute women after the death of their husbands.

Each beneficiary is given an amount of Rs 500 per month. New beneficiaries can apply on the website www.mahilakalyanup.nic.in

Norms set for application:

The following standards are prescribed for the application: –

. The applicant should be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.

. The husband of the applicant has died.

. The age of the applicant should not be less than 18 years.

. The annual income limit of the applicant and his family should not exceed Rs. 2.00 lakhs per annum from all sources.

. The applicant is not receiving a pension from any other scheme of the state or central government.

Deadline for disposal of application form:

1. For investigation – 45 days

2 – Block Development Officer / Deputy District Magistrate / Municipal Magistrate – 15 days

3 – District Monitoring and Sanctioning Committee – 01 month

4 – For sending funds by NICC to PFMS – 01 month

to decide within the prescribed timeframe It is mandatory otherwise the application

will be automatically forwarded/approved after the expiry of the above deadline.

Under the scheme of awarding the couple for remarrying after the husband’s death to the destitute woman, the scheme of awarding the couple for remarrying from the destitute women whose husband has died, is operated, provided that he is not an income tax payer. The couple has to submit an application to the District Probation Officer’s office to get the grant within one year from the marriage and after the approval of the District Magistrate, the couple is given an award of Rs 11,000.

Under the Bhagyalakshmi Yojana launched on the basis of the Beti Bachao Yojana of the Central Government, a bond of Rs 50,000 is given in the name of the daughter on the birth of a daughter in a below poverty line (BPL) family in Uttar Pradesh.

After registering at the nearest Anganwadi center on the birth of a daughter, one can get the benefit of Bhagyalakshmi scheme. Under this scheme, the amount given in the name of the daughter can be withdrawn only after she is 18 years old, according to which the daughter can be married only after becoming an adult.

This scheme is available only to those families whose annual income is less than Rs. 2,00,000 and who have registered the birth within one year of the child being born.

Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala Scheme

Under this scheme financial assistance is provided to girls at different stages, for instance, upon birth, immunization, admission in Class I, VI, IX, competition of Class X and XII. This scheme is only available to families whose annual income does not exceed Rs 3,00,000 and have only two children.

The state government will pay a child’s guardian or carer Rs 4,000 a month as financial aid until the child reaches adulthood. Children under the age of ten who are orphaned and have no family will be cared for by state government children’s homes. The state government will also provide an amount of Rs 1,01,000 for the marriage of girls under the age of ten who are orphaned and have no family.

The state government will pay a child’s guardian or carer Rs 4,000 as financial aid until the child reaches adulthood. Children under the age of ten who are orphaned and have no family will be cared for by state government children’s homes. The state government will also provide an amount of Rs 1,01,000 for the marriage of girls  under the age of ten who are orphaned and have no family. Currently, such homes are functional in Mathura, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Agra and Rampur.

The Uttar Pradesh government launched a welfare scheme for children who have either lost both of their parents to COVID-19 or the earning parent. Under the Uttar Pradesh Mukhyamantri Bal Seva Yojana, the state government will provide financial assistance to a child’s guardian while those who do not have anyone to look after them will be sent to children’s homes. The state government will take care of the upbringing and education of children orphaned by COVID-19. The government will provide a monthly financial assistance of Rs 4,000 to a child’s guardian or caretaker till he or she attains adulthood. Children below 10 years who do not have any family members will be taken care of by the state government children’s homes. Currently, such homes are functional in Mathura, Lucknow, Prayagraj, Agra and Rampur.

PM Kisan Scheme is an initiative of the Government of India to provide 100% funds to the Agriculture Sector. The Government will provide income support of Rs. 6,000/- per year in three equal installments to farmers and their families. This means with each installment the Government of India will pay 2,000/- rupees.

Kanya Sumangala Yojana is a monetary benefit scheme under which the Uttar Pradesh State government gives each beneficiary Rs. 15,000. The scheme focuses on the improvement of the conditions of girls and women in Uttar Pradesh. In the light of varied social stigmas persisting in our society, this effort by the Uttar Pradesh State government promises financial support to the families that have two daughters.
